“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16
How concerned are you with keeping your body healthy? To be honest, some in this world are obsessed in this matter and have forgotten the preeminence of the spirit. However, too many Christians separate their spiritual life from their physical life altogether and do not take care of God’s gift.
God placed a very high value on our bodies. In fact, He said that each body is God’s designer model (Psalm 139). Our body is an entrusted resource. God wants us to be good managers of our resources whether they be financial, material or our physical bodies. Paul tried to clarify some issues that the church was having concerning an inaccurate view of thinking that their physical body was unimportant. Too many were believing that they could do anything they wanted with their bodies and God wouldn’t care.
The Holy Spirit wanted us to remember what a wonderful resource the physical body is. In fact, it is His temple. The Holy Spirit comes to live inside of every believer the moment they have received Christ as Lord and Savior.
Our bodies, then, are walking testimonies of the goodness of God. We only get one body; let’s do what we reasonably can to be a good steward of God’s resources.
Yours for a Healthy Body, Soul and Spirit,
