Leaving a Lasting Legacy

“Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.” Philippians 3:17

Dear Friends,

When I was young, I never thought of dying... ever. I guess I just seemed to think in the back of my mind (although I knew death was a possibility) that I was immortal! I thought that things were never going to change, then life happened. With each increasing year I now realize that we are going to leave this world and we will leave a legacy and it will be a lasting legacy. It is my daily prayer that God would help our family, our church and myself to leave a Godly example and Christ-honoring heritage for future generations. One of the things that I want my children and grandchildren to know is that their dad spent his life, his time and his treasure in extending God’s kingdom. Our finances, whether we have a lot or a little, can be used to leave a rich tradition for future generation. I want to ensure that the Gospel message and solid Bible truths continue to be shared. God has determined our lifespan. He has blessed us all with different abilities and provided opportunities for us to use them. The legacy we leave will be a reflection of the life we lived. When you throw a pebble into water the resulting rings of ripples will continue and spread out innumerable times. Pass it on!
