Our Gethsemane Experiences

“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.”

Matthew 26:36

Dear Friends,

It would be nice if life was always easy, but we know it’s not. In fact, sometimes we go through some extremely difficult times. The big question is as we go through these tough times is how will we respond – to whom or to what will we turn?

The most intense suffering every recorded was that of our Lord and Savior, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. In Gethsemane, the full weight of what He was about to endure pressed in on Him. He knew that He would be separated from the Father as He took the full force of God’s wrath on sin.

The response of our Savior in Gethsemane is a great example for us in times of trouble! He was able to go on only because He trusted His Father fully and went to the only source of comfort and strength, which is God. He responded to His difficult situation God’s way – he poured out His heart to the Father, and in so doing; He was enabled to do a great work.

In your “Gethsemane experience” let the Father be there for you.

God is in Gethsemane,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
