Healing Our Insecurities
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.”
1 Corinthians 1:27
Insecurity is quite common in today’s world. The Internet has flooded our lives with so much information that can make us feel unhappy and unsatisfied with our food, house, car, education, and success. In one person, this insecurity moves them to pullback and in another; it moves them to demand as much attention as possible.
We’re all familiar with insecurity, but what’s making us feel this way — and how do we get free from it? We feel insecure because something threatens our sense of identity.
But a feeling of insecurity can be an invitation. God is inviting us to escape the danger of false beliefs about who we are and what we’re worth, and to find identity in the fact that we are part of God’s great plan of redemption!
Do you feel weak and inadequate? God loves to use weak and foolish things because, when we are weak, God showcases His strength!
