Why Is America Great?

“Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine”

Psalm 80:14

Dear Friends,

Why is America great? Is it because it has greater natural resources? Other nations have the same. Is it because Americans are smarter? No. Why has God blessed America?

God has blessed America because America was founded on God-given principles! No country in history of world (outside of Israel) has ever had such a CHRISTIAN BEGINNING as America!

It was Almighty God that placed the American dream in the hearts of our founding fathers. America is great because of its foundation.

In 1620 when the Puritans came to these shores, they came for a specific purpose. The Mayflower Compact begins with the words, ''In the name of God, Amen'' and ''For the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.'' That is why they came.

This week as we celebrate Independence Day let us pray as the Psalmist who prayed for his nation, “O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine” (Psalm 80:14). We need a fresh heaven sent visitation from God!

On June 8, 1845 President Andrew Jackson said, ''The Bible is the rock upon which our republic stands.'' May it be so in every life, home and church.

God has blessed America from sea to shining sea, but how long will that continue? America’s hope is not in the White House, not in the schoolhouse…but IN YOUR HOUSE and in the CHURCH HOUSE!

May God raise up Christ-centered churches and church-centered families!
