Can We Trust God?

“The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Psalm 103:19

Dear Friends,

Having something or someone you can trust in these days seems to be rather rare. I’m not sure that I can put my finger on one single thing that has caused the decay in our culture, but one thing is for sure – trust is in short supply.

The Scriptures remind us that in the last days, people will be untrustworthy, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…Without natural affection, trucebreakers…” (2 Timothy 3:1, 3). In fact, even trusting ourselves is hard, frankly.

Thank God, however, there are many good reasons to trust God. Perhaps the greatest reason of all is that He has absolute control over every situation, “his kingdom ruleth over all.” There is no one like our God, who is, “the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Even a casual reading of the Bible reminds us that the Lord will never fail His people. Thank God that when the banks fail, the economy tanks, businesses close and society is in turmoil, we can safely put our faith and confidence in One who is still on the throne!

Thankful for A God We Can Trust,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
