There Is No Justification Apart from the Blood of Jesus Christ

“To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Romans 3:26

Dear Friends,

“Not guilty!” Those have to be two of the most joy producing words in the English language. Outside of “I love you” they must be the greatest words to hear. That’s exactly what happened two thousand years ago when the Apostle wrote that all believers are declared, “justified” by God.

It would be one thing if we had never ever done anything wrong but since all of us have repeatedly violated many of God’s laws, the truth of justification is truly amazing. If we sinned only three times a day (and considering our common attitudes and actions like greed, lust, lying etc. - that’s a small number actually) that would be over one thousand sins a year. Let’s say a person who is 40 years old stood before a judge in a courtroom with forty thousand indictments against him, there would be no hope for mercy! That is a good illustration of where each one of us stands with God, only you and I might have way more issues to deal with.

God cannot simply overlook these offenses; a payment must be made. How can we pay for so great a debt? God requires a blood sacrifice so religious observances or being a good person won’t clear the slate. Thank God the Father provided a substitute who was willing to justify us. With His death on the cross, Jesus paid the price for our reconciliation. If we accept the priceless gift of justification, it enables us to enjoy a close relationship with almighty God in this life and the next.

Justification = Just as if I’d never sinned!
