What Does Easter Mean to You?

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”

Philippians 3:10

Dear Friends,

I love Easter! Even though the Easter egg hunts and other family activities don’t especially have anything to do with the Bible, I see them as wholesome fun that all can enjoy. But for too many, Easter is just a day to put on their best outfit. Easter should be about meaningful worship. In fact, the power of Easter is actually a truth we can live out throughout the year and not just one day a year!

Here’s what the Apostle Paul said, “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” (Philippians 3:10). The apostle was excited at the thought of being sanctified through the power of Christ's death and resurrection killing the sin in him. He looked forward to a new and growing spiritual life where he received the benefit of Christ's death and resurrection in his day to day existence.

On this Good Friday, which was only good because of what it accomplished, may you personally experience the true power of Easter. I encourage you, dear friend, to put Christ first in your life. Ask Him to help you die to selfish ambition, goals and plans and to truly live out what Easter means. Let’s live Easter every day, all year long!
