Burning Bushes

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…”

James 4:8

Dear Friends,

In Scripture, we read about many people who “drew near” and had a personal encounter with the Lord. There was Abraham in his tent when he heard the news about Isaac, Gideon interceding with God about a fleece, and of course then there was Moses and the burning bush where he and his God had a precious and holy time together. So much so, that the ground where he was standing was holy ground!

We too should have burning bush experiences with the Lord. James told us to draw near to God and He will then draw near to us (James 4:8). Walking close to the Lord takes a commitment to draw near and some dedicated face-to-face time with the Lord. There is no way to build good relationships on earth with people without spending at least some time connecting. The same is true with God. Every moment spent with God is a burning bush.

Friend, take your shoes off and enjoy Him speaking to you through His glorious Word and then speak back to Him in prayer and praise. Start now by dedicating a portion of every day to meeting with your God. Discover your own burning bush in the pages of God’s Word.

Meeting with God,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
