Touching Lives

“And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.”

Mark 10:13

Dear Friends,

As Christians we are called by God to touch the world with the saving news of Jesus Christ. I’m afraid however that too often we concentrate only on sharing the Gospel with our mouths. Our touch, that is our hands, has a lot to do with it as well.

In the time of Christ, people brought their children to Him so that He might touch them – they knew there was something powerful about a touch from God. God uses loving hands to work together with wise words from our mouth in making a difference for the kingdom of God. Acts of kindness, where we show the genuine love and compassion of Jesus, are paramount if we are going to reach people for Jesus Christ.

Whether it is carrying someone’s groceries, opening a door, mowing a lawn, babysitting or slipping $20 in a note – a touch from Jesus through each of us, makes a huge difference!

Being His Hands,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
