While We Were Yet Sinners

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”

Romans 5:8

Dear Friends,

Many people find it difficult to except the fact that God loves them just as they are. The Biblical concept that theologians share is known as the unconditional love of God. The natural tendency for humans is to assume that they must deserve their salvation – it is conditional - earned by such things as good works, solid careers, a loving family and contribution to society, etc. To be sure, God plainly says in this verse that we are sinners – He doesn't pull any punches and white wash our failures. We also know that God is angry at sin (Psalm 7:11), but that does not mean that God does not love humankind, and does so without reservation. The amazing thing is that no matter what has happened in your past or what you are into right now, God's love has been freely given to you. God lavishes his love on anyone – without any exception! He will not love you more if you start being good and get your life cleaned up first. To be accurate, God never actually “started” to love you…he always has cared for you, even from the foundation of the world (1 John 4:19). The incredible fact of God's unconditional love is overwhelming in its breadth and depth. Accept this life-changing truth today! Prayerfully open your arms to His love and receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

So Loved,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
