Spiritual Terroriststimes

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles.”

Matthew 7:15-16

Dear Friends,

Keeping our family safe is one of the most important concerns that all of us have in today's world.Homeland security is becoming an increasingly daunting task, but I submit to all of us that as bad as terrorism is, there is actually something worse – in fact far worse – and that would be a spiritual terrorist.

Jesus said they are so dangerous they are like a pack of wolves. And what’s worse is that they are dressed in sheep’s clothing. Jesus had to take a moment out of His teaching schedule to alert people to the possibility that they and their family might be chewed up and spit out by false teachers.

Spiritual terrorists look good and even sound good but have evil goals. They are ready to deceive at every turn. Their teaching sounds reasonable at first, gradually however; their inaccuracies water down scriptural truth to a point where it can no longer be considered pure.

Being alert to spiritual terrorism is an important part of the Christian life. Jesus gave us a key weapon in our battle against false doctrine. He reminded us that eventually their true character (fruit) and the results of their doctrine would come out. Among other things you will see them questioning parts of the Bible, backtracking on a holy life and going soft on obedience.

It is vital that each of the sheep and especially the lambs be wary of these wolves. Let’s be prayerful and discerning as we keep our eyes and ears open for spiritual terrorists.

Yours for Truth,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
