Practicing Perspective

September 11, 2016

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Philippians 4:11

Dear Friends,

Is it really possible to face daily trials and have God’s peace? Yes…but certainly not in our own power. In order to do life victoriously we must look at circumstances from God’s point of view.

The Apostle Paul pointed out in Philippians 4:11 that he had learned to be content, despite his circumstances. We see clearly that this wasn’t a natural ability that he possessed – he had to learn it. What he learned was to face adversity without discontentment.

Every time we experience a trial in life we have a choice – we can look at it from a human perspective or God’s. We can use human eyes or spiritual eyes. Life is full of outward agitation, but by basing our responses on Scriptural principles we have inner calm.

Let’s practice having the perspective that somehow God will take care of the situation.  Let’s turn our weakness into God’s power, through learning godly contentment.

Praying for Power,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
