The Treasure of Experiencing Christ as Lord
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”
Philippians 3:10
Dear Friends,
When we say that we “know someone”, we usually mean that we’ve accumulated facts or recognize who they are. Unfortunately, far too many Christians know Jesus in the same way.
The great Apostle Paul prayed passionately that God would grant him the treasure of Christ as Lord. Knowing God is more than being aware of some facts about the Son of God who died on the cross to take away our sins. Knowing the facts is necessary, but it does not bring the kind of powerful closeness like when you truly know somebody.
In order to really know the Lord, it is vital that we dig deep into His words…His promises…His actions…His heart. Then, we can experience the fullness of our salvation.
During this wonderful advent season let’s pursue a passion for Jesus. Don’t let the business of the season rob you of spending quality time in the word, worship and working for our Savior.
Striving to Know Christ,
Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
