The Christmas Message

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:14

Dear Friends,

Many people attend Christmas eve or day services and observe holiday traditions but fail to consider the most important question of the season: what is the Christmas message?

The Christmas message is simple, yet profound, the angels at the birth of Christ spoke it best as recorded in Luke 2:14, “Peace on earth and good will towards man.” There you have it. There is hope for a fallen humanity! There is hope for peace with God and a hope that we can have peace in our homes and nation.

The message of Christmas is this – because Jesus Christ became human, He was able to hang on a cross and become a sacrifice for our sins. Though Bethlehem and Golgotha are geographically in different places; they must always be seen together. The manger and the cross, the birth and death are inextricably joined. The Christmas message is that God is with us – Emmanuel – He is with us in our sorrow, He is with us in our work, He is with us in our life and thank God, He will be with us at our death!

And as wonderful as that is, an even more important fact is that now we are with Him in His resurrection and thank the Lord, we shall be with Him at His second coming!

The message of Christmas is the amazing moment in time when the love of God came to us through the birth of a human baby.

There’s Always Hope!

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
