The Greatest Moment of Your Life

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;”

Hebrews 2:3

Dear Friends,

What has been the greatest moment of your life? For some people it is the day they got married, for others it is the birth of a child or a promotion at work. And while all these are certainly important moments, for a believer in Jesus Christ, the greatest moment is the day of salvation. Because on that day, their eternal destiny was changed!

In the amazing book of Hebrews, God counseled His children that a relationship with Jesus was greater than anything. The greatest moment then – the best thing that ever happened to any human being – is the day they entered into a personal relationship with Christ! It is as the word salvation suggests, a rescue. Every person that has ever lived was lost and on their way to a Christless eternity. They were spiritually dead because of sin, separated from God and headed for judgment but at the moment of salvation all of that was escaped from.

The just recompense of our sinful lives has been turned into the gracious gift of eternal life all because we accepted the payment for sin that Jesus made on Calvary’s cross. The greatest moment of any life is that very second a person places their full weight on Jesus Christ as their eternal hope!
