A Shaken World

Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.”

Hebrews 12:26

Dear Friends,

Throughout the history of mankind, writers have recorded the attempts of God trying to get the attention of humans through whatever means He could. When Moses was on Mount Sinai - the earth shook; at the crucifixion of our Lord - the earth trembled; on and on we see God speaking through catastrophic happenings. Throughout the Old and New Testament, and still today, God is always shaking things up.

Over the last decade or so, we have seen more cataclysmic natural events than ever before. In 2004 an undersea earthquake triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of the Indian Ocean, killing ¼ million people in 14 countries. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina slams the Gulf Coast here in the USA and 1,500+ lose their lives.

The writer of Hebrews was clear, the Lord is sending the world a message – God is in control. Whatever mankind does or doesn’t do, ultimately, our ultimate security is only in a God whose foundations are unshakable.

Friend, don’t make God shake your world in order to get your attention, give Him your total body, soul and spirit today!

Trusting an Unshakeable God,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
