Are You Using Your Spiritual Gifts?

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.”

1 Corinthians 16:9

Dear Friends,

Earthly concerns, by necessity, occupy much of our thoughts and actions. A mother caring for her young sons and daughters…a hard-working father keeping food on table…a sacrificial police officer protecting our families – these jobs, and many like them, rightfully consume so much of our resources.

But uppermost in God’s heart is the salvation of mankind. His instruments in this goal, is each of us as believers. He tasks us to watch for opportunities as we go through life and to be ready to use the gifts He has given us. These, “open doors” as the apostle called them, are everywhere!

God uses prepared people. Spiritual preparation includes prayer and a daily quiet time in the word. God also uses proactive people. Whether in major tasks or smaller ones, we must push on doors of opportunities so we can share Christ.

The most important work in our world is helping with the Father’s redemptive plan. Those of us who have been beneficiaries of God’s saving work have the privilege and responsibility to use our spiritual gifts to fulfill His plan! Opening Doors for Christ,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
