The Cross is Not a Burden
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
Galatians 6:14
Dear Friends,
Too often, we humans create mental jails for ourselves through stinkin’ thinkin.’ For some, the idea of being a Christian is a life full of restrictions. The thought of living up to the holiness of Calvary’s cross is too heavy. But the cross is not meant to be a burden, but rather something to rejoice in as the Apostle stated in Galatians 6. The cross means freedom not bondage!
Some Christians have such a challenge realizing that they are free from sin’s hold. As a result, they pray often to receive Jesus hoping eventually that they’ll be good enough to warrant heaven. Their salvation is only good until they make another mistake – how sad!
The forgiveness of Christ on the cross covers our past, present, and future sins. Our sins are wiped away at salvation – thank God! As the old gospel song says, “The cross is a statue of liberty to us.”
Thanking God for Liberty in Christ,
