You Are What You Eat

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Philippians 4:8

Dear Friends,

If we are, as the popular expression goes, what we eat then I would be an In-N-Out Double-Double with grilled onions! I sure do love those. The truth is, however, I kid about it a lot more than I get to actually eat them. ;(

Eating healthy also applies to our spirit. Our mind has an appetite much like our stomach and it becomes accustomed to the diet we provide. The Apostle lovingly plead with the saints in Philippi to monitor their spiritual food. Like the old computer saying goes, “garbage in, garbage out.”

It’s impossible to have good things coming out consistently if there’s a lot of junk has been going in. That’s why it is vital to pay attention to the music, TV, movies and other entertainment that we watch. There’s no possible way to eliminate everything, but we certainly should do our best to limit the mental junk food.

Love God’s book – the Bible. Meditate upon it, come to church and hear it preached, quote it, pray it back to God and enjoy the delicious good food that the Lord has given us.

Thanking God for THE Book Today,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
