Death is Dead!
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”
1 Corinthians 15:26
Dear Friends,
There are many wonderful things that the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, accomplished. But perhaps the most thrilling is that death is destroyed. The Apostle Paul proclaimed, “The last enemy that should be destroyed it death” (1 Corinthians 15:26).
Numerous times over the years I have heard people boast, “When you die, you die…that’s it.” If that were true then for the believer, the grave would have power over them. If that were the case, then our dear Savior who is King of kings and Lord of lords would be unable to prevail over the last and final enemy of His people. If that were truly the case, then God’s Word is meaningless.
Thank God none of that is true! Because of an empty tomb some twenty-centuries ago, our Savior put to death the greatest enemy of mankind – death itself. Because Jesus has accomplished all this for us, He certainly deserves, as Oswald Chambers stated, our utmost for His highest.
Thanking God for Life in Christ,
Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
