Help Wanted

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever”

John 14:16

Dear Friends,

Have you ever gone by a store front in a down town area and seen a sign hanging that says, “help wanted”? The business people who place those signs are in often in desperate need for someone to work. Just like those businesses, I feel as though I should have a help wanted sign hanging from my nose – Help Wanted! I so much need the help of God in every area of my life. Whether it is as a husband, father, Pastor or simply existing in this crazy world, I need assistance to make it through.

Thank God we have the promise of Divine help! The night before Jesus’s crucifixion He comforted His disciples with the news that even though he was leaving, another comforter was available as well. The word for “comforter” in the original means “called alongside to help”. Praise God, The Holy Spirit is there to helps us in every way. God the Holy Spirit enables his children to accomplish all that God the Father has designed for them to do. Whatever we are called to do in our daily walk, we have a Helper who offers strength, wisdom and comfort every moment of every day – forever!
