Increasing Your Faith

“And the apostles said unto the Lord, increase our faith.”

Luke 17: 5

Dear Friends,

After the apostles had been with Jesus for a time, it was clear to them that the power of God flowed through His life. This gave them a desire to see God do mighty works through them as well. They then asked the Lord Jesus to increase their faith…a good prayer, but not an instant one. God doesn’t typically give us full faith but rather starts with the little we have – like a mustard seed – and then proceeds to grow it.

Our Lord will give us increasingly difficult challenges of reliance and obedience to see if we will trust God to provide. Every step of obedience will result in increased opportunity to serve the Lord and see His power displayed. God wants each of us to be influential in his kingdom. He longs to give us His power. But God’s power is not for those who cannot handle it!

This week the Lord will provide many occasions for you to believe him and respond in obedience. “Problems” are always unique opportunities to increase your faith in God.
