A Call to Action, and Prayer

“And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God…”

Daniel 9:20

Dear Friends,

These are important days indeed—ones that need our attention and diligence. As we face another national election a call to action needs to be issued to vote biblical values as much possible. While no candidate or proposition is perfect, we can choose the better one.

Vote morally and pray fervently! Our greatest resource is God and our only true hope. Only prayer can hold back the floodtide of sin.

One illustration of God’s mercy, deliverance, and revival among His people is when Israel had been taken captive by the Babylonians (Babylon is the ancient name for Iraq). In Daniel 9, Daniel offered a prayer to God to deliver the Israelites from their captivity.

Daniel identified himself with a nation and asked God to have mercy. The evil people of our nation are certainly not going to pray for themselves. What were Daniel’s concerns when he prayed? The removal of guilt (Daniel 9:16) and the restoration of God’s glory (Daniel 9:17-19).

We need to pray for God to cleanse our nation and remove our guilt. We need to confess sexual immorality, the merciless killing of the unborn, and the godless humanism that has invaded our republic.

May God give every Christian a burning, yearning heart for the glory of God! It is action time in America. Only prayer can hold back the floodtide of sin and God’s judgment and release the cleansing, healing hand of God. Will you pray?

Praying for America,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
