God Will Speak Peace to His People

“I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints”

Psalm 85:8

Dear Friends,

What do you want more than anything to hear as a headline tomorrow morning when you wake up?

It is the same word the psalmist was longing to hear, “I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints.” Peace in our family. Peace in the nation. Peace in the church and among people. Peace in our world.

There is a deep connection between the promise that God will speak peace to his people and that the people dare to act accordingly, to live biblically. We need the Word – to believe it, to grasp it, to take it to our hearts – sometimes despite what we experience. We need the Word of God.

God will speak peace to His people by the blessed Holy Spirit as He gives life to the Word. God states that, “the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2). In like manner God can speak peace into and bring sense out of the void and darkness of your life!

The peace of God is found in strong expressions of faith. This is the peace that transcends all understanding. God will speak peace to his people. Are you listening?
