Working for the Lord
“With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:”
Everybody works for something, some might say, “to put food on the table,” others respond, “To keep a roof over our head,” still others say, “Something to keep me occupied and engaged.” But, when you are working for the Lord – it is the greatest privilege of all!
When you hear about someone working for the Lord, do you think that means being a pastor or a missionary? The answer is of course yes, that is certainly working for the Lord. But actually, whenever we meet the physical or spiritual needs of others by connecting them with the Lord, we have done a work for God. The great apostle Paul reminded us in Ephesians that when we do service for the Lord it should be with “good will,” that is, seeking the good of others. Christian service could be helping a lady carry her grocery bags, babysitting while someone goes to the store or driving a truck for a company while maintaining a bright, Christian witness.
Every day our hands, eyes, mouth and feet should be dedicated to the Lord to make a difference for the kingdom of God. Dear friend, remember that every work either glorifies or diminishes the name of God.
Glad to be Working for God,
Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
