Disappointed or Excited?

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

When I woke up and began to see the election results, I must admit I was disappointed. In fact, the more I saw who won (both locally and nationally) and the different propositions that were passed that further eroded the moral strength of our country, the more I was grieved in my spirit. Unfortunately, the days we’re living in don’t seem to be getting any better. Future generations have a big hill to climb morally, I’m afraid. And yet with all the disappointment I began to get excited!

I got excited because in the midst of all the darkness, the light shines the brightest! There’s never been a greater day for the hope of the gospel to shine through each one of us. I also got thrilled because I realized that as the kingdoms of this earth get more and more evil, the coming of our Lord draws ever closer! My heart exclaims with the apostle John in the book of Revelation, “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20). These truly are the most exciting days to live. While I’m disappointed with the moral direction of our country, I’m excited about the opportunity to make a difference and that we may be the rapture generation!
