The Love of God is Shed Abroad in Our Hearts

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

Romans 5:5

Dear Friends,

It is a glorious truth – our Lord is more than willing to make even the most hopeless sinner into a mighty child of God! No matter what we have done or experienced, God is willing to release us from the guilt of our past.

The Apostle Paul reminded believers how exciting it was when the Holy Spirit poured His love into the human heart – it was like an instant party! The joy of knowing that everything is okay in our relationship with God is truly an incredible thing.

Can you imagine for example the hope that must’ve burst forth in the heart of the woman “caught in adultery” in John chapter 8? She had committed adultery and as a result, she was under a penalty of death. But the Lord gave her a second chance when she repented. Jesus didn’t wave the penalty for her sin, but paid it for her. When the knowledge of God’s forgiveness settled in her spirit, the love of God was “shed abroad.”

May each of you reading this today experience the beautiful joy of knowing that your sins are gone…G.O.N.E…gone!
