Christmas Lights!
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”
John 8:12
Dear Friends,
Who doesn't like hearing the “oohs” and “aahs” of the children as they see some elaborate Christmas light display in the neighborhood. There is a bigger reason however for the lights at Christmas than just festivity.
Jesus came at Bethlehem 2,000 years ago to be the Light of the world! True light came into this dark world when Jesus was born.
Christmas is about light! We often sing the Christmas carol, "Silent Night” at our Christmas Eve service. The third stanza of "Silent Night" says, "Son of God, love's pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace."
Christians sing at Christmas because we have something to sing about! It’s the “dawn of redeeming grace” and we don't ever need to walk in darkness again.
Are you walking in spiritual darkness today? The good news is that if you will pray to Jesus, He will shine His light into your heart! He will remove your spiritual darkness with the glory of His wonderful presence - ask Him in today!
