“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing”
Psalm 92:12, 13
There’s a wonderful promise in scripture for those that serve God, “...I shall be anointed with fresh oil” (Psalm 92:10). This speaks of the anointing grace of the Holy Spirit that is a refreshing oil, especially to veteran saints of God that are serious about their faith.
They are pictured as good trees. You will notice the good place they are in, “they are planted in the house of the Lord” (Psalm 92:13). Trees are not usually planted in a house; but trees taking root in the rich soil of a Bible preaching church flourish.
It is promised that this category of believers are fruit bearers, even as they age, “They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” Other trees when they are old stop bearing, but God's trees – because of God’s anointing - keep being used. The last days of those that serve the Lord are sometimes their best days. Rejoice friends, your best days are ahead of you!
