Are You a Noble Person?

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

Acts 17:11

Dear Friends,

Would you consider yourself a “noble” person? The question might lead some to checking their DNA to see if they are a part of some royal family – “nobility.” Or, perhaps, when we consider nobility, we think of taking the high road and not being drawn into the mundane and negative aspects of relationships and circumstances.

But true nobility is described by Dr. Luke as a character trait of the thriving Christian, These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind…” (Acts 17:11).

Our love for Scripture provides an accurate assessment of our nobility. Through God’s Word, the Bible, He has entrusted to us the knowledge of who He is, what He does in the world and what the future holds. True nobility helps us to discern what God has in mind for us and what our calling is as husbands, wives and children.

Friend, I encourage you to take time today and every day to partake of His wisdom as found in Scripture – the written Word. As you do, you will be taking the spiritual high road and can truly be classified as God’s nobility.

We Are Kings and Priests unto the Lord,

Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
